Case Study - ACN Europe

ACN Europe B.V. is a subsidiary of ACN Worldwide (http://www.acninc.com), a market leader in the telecom industry and one of the world's leading direct sellers. ACN has millions of satisfied customers in 18 different countries. ACN Europe uses an IBM eServer iSeries model 830 with 4 LPAR's which are being used for customer care and billing. In addition, the company deploys two IBM Enterprises Storage Servers with a total storage capacity of 10 terabytes.

The European offices of ACN Europe handle all telephone transactions through the main office in Amsterdam. Following the rapid growth of recent years ACN Europe decided to deploy the Enforcive/Global Security software. In this way, the company intended to get a better handle on who has access to the IBM production server. The product was implemented on ACN's IBM eServer iSeries in June 2005 by Tadis Business Solutions B.V. from The Netherlands.

The organization is now able to monitor all security settings for both applications and the iSeries itself and to control external FTP traffic.

Enforcive/Global Security offers all this functionality - it enables the company to monitor all traffic and even to streamline it when necessary. In addition, through this software, ACN knows who is accessing the production server and in which way this access is occurring. Enforcive/Global security provides this functionality for all protocols including SNA, TCP/IP and FTP as well as for DB/400.
